Local youths join foces to transform SMEs with AI

At a time, technological advancements are taking over the world, two Zimbabwean youths have created an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered accounting platform, which aims to transform how small and medium enterprises (SMEs)  handle accounting, compliance and financial management.

Tech innovators, Gabriel Makuvire of Zen Mountain AI and Oliver Mapunga of Rynaty AI announced their strategic partnership, which will make work easy for SMEs.

The platform integrates key compliance needs — including ZIMRA, NSSA, PRAZ and multi-currency reporting (USD & ZiG) — into one seamless dashboard. It also delivers audit reports and accurate monthly financials

Makuvire said the platform was a first-of-its-kind platform in the country and is designed specifically for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

“The system automates bookkeeping, generates real-time reports, ensures tax and statutory compliance and even enables interactive conversations with AI to guide business owners on financial decisions,” he said.

“You no longer need a degree in accounting to run a financially sound business.”

Makuvire added that the system is built to empower every business owner with clarity, speed and confidence in their finances.

Mapunga chipped and said the move helps in accelerating towards a digital economy as it ensures that no entrepreneur is left behind.

“Rynatt AI brings powerful data science to enhance decision-making,” he said.

“Together, we are offering a plug-and-play finance solution for the modern Zimbabwean business.”

The platform is already being piloted by SMEs, consultants and youth-led start-ups nationwide and also in South Africa.

AI has been gaining momentum in Zimbabwe as businesses, government departments, and start-ups explore ways to integrate digital technologies into the national economy.

Zimbabwe has signalled its commitment to digital transformation through initiatives such as the National ICT Policy and the Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Master Plan, which emphasise innovation, automation and AI as tools to boost productivity and efficiency.
