Kadoma businessman celebrates birthday with Jairos Jiri School for the Blind learners

Daka's decision to spend his special day with the Jairos Jiri learners was met with overwhelming gratitude and appreciation.

In a heartwarming display of kindness and generosity, prominent Kadoma businessman and philanthropist Cosmas Daka chose to celebrate his 44th birthday in a unique and meaningful way.

The birthday lunch was held at Jairos Jiri School for the Blind in Rimuka Kadoma last week on Saturday, bringing joy to the learners and guests who attended the event.

Daka's decision to spend his special day with the Jairos Jiri learners was met with overwhelming gratitude and appreciation.

The event was evident to his commitment to giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Speaking to Standard Style on the sidelines of the event, Daka said he was delighted to celebrate his birthday with the kids and he thanked those who managed to attend the function.

“I am thrilled to be celebrating my special day with these amazing kids, and I am grateful to everyone who made it possible and let us continue to support and uplift each other, and remember that every small act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life,” he said.

“I wanted to do something special for my birthday as I always do each and every year and what better way than to share it with these amazing learners who inspire me every day and the birthday lunch was a fun-filled affair, with the learners and guests enjoying delicious food, music, and entertainment.”

The learners were treated to a sumptuous meal, courtesy of Daka, and were also entertained by lively music and dance performances by renowned artists Ngwere Diki, Peter Moyo and Leonard Zhakata, who made the guests sing along to popular tunes.

The event was attended by notable guests, including local government officials, business leaders, and members of the community.

Acting head of the school, Tawanda Chipwanya, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Daka for his generosity.

“On behalf of the learners, staff, and the entire school community, I would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Mr Daka for choosing to spend his birthday with us,” he said.

“The groceries and lunch he provided will go a long way in supporting our learners, and we are truly grateful for his kindness and generosity.”

Simabarashe Gamira a close friend of the birthday boy expressed his gratitude, and said: “I am happy to be part of the guest and I am going to emulate what my brother was doing. I will always cherish his works of celebrating with the children at Jairos Jiri.”

Chakari Ward 4 councillor Clement Machawu under whose ward the school falls, expressed his happiness and blessing.

“I am happy to note that Cosmas was able to have a lunch with children with disabilities. I am praying that God replaces where he had taken and bless his works as well,” said Machawu.

Leonard Zhakata, who entertained the gathering with his captivating performance, expressed his admiration for Daka.

“I have a lot of respect for Daka, we have known each other for some time, and I am impressed by his continued efforts to help children with disabilities. Keep up the good work, my brother,” said Zhakata.

As part of his birthday celebrations, Daka went beyond hosting a lunch for the Jairos Jiri learners, and also generously donated food stuffs that will sustain them for a considerable period, demonstrating his commitment to supporting the well-being and education of children with disabilities.

The Jairos Jiri learners were overjoyed by Daka's thoughtful gesture, and the atmosphere was electric with excitement and gratitude.

“We are so grateful to Mr. Daka for choosing to spend his birthday with us,” said Chipwanya.

“It's a reminder that we are not forgotten, and that there are still people who care about our well-being.”
