Sweden-based Afro-fusion musician Luckson Chikutu, popularly known as ManLuckerz, says he is elated to be part of the 2026 National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) nominees as this shows that his work in Europe is being recognised back home.
The much hyped awards will be held on February 28 at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
ManLuckerz, who recently dropped his eighth album titled Nhinhi, was nominated in the Outstanding Artist in the Diaspora alongside Nitefreak and Chrispen Nyathi.
“I am happy to be part of the nominees at this year's Nama edition," ManLuckerz told this publication from his Scandinavian base.
“This shows that my works here are being recognised, it is an honour to be among the best in the arts and culture industry.
“The nomination itself is enough to show that I have done my best in this industry and I will keep on pushing.”
This is ManLuckerz's second nomination in his music career after having been a finalist in the same category in 2019.
Born in Gutu, ManLuckerz has built a strong following across Europe, where he is also recognised for poetry, storytelling and theatre work.
