First Farai embraces content creation, eyes 22th album

Musician First Farai says he has embraced content creation as a strategic way to supplement his income, while remaining firmly committed to his music career with plans already underway for his 22th album.

Speaking in an interview, First Farai dismissed claims that he had abandoned music, explaining that his recent shift into digital content was a necessary evolution in response to changing industry dynamics.

“I have not left music at all,” he said.

“Content creation is simply another stream of income that helps me sustain my brand and livelihood.

“The music industry has changed, and as an artist you have to adapt.”

His live performances continue to attract significant attention, with shows drawing large and energetic crowds — a testament to his enduring appeal on stage.

“My shows have been amazing,” he said. “The support I’m getting from fans at live performances is overwhelming. It reminds me why I started music in the first place.”

The artist, known for his consistent output over the years, said he continues to spend time in the studio and is excited about reaching a major milestone in his career.

“I’m actually working towards my 22th album,” he revealed. “That alone should show people that I’m still very much active musically. Music is my foundation — it’s who I am.”

First Farai noted that digital platforms have opened up new opportunities for creatives, allowing them to monetise their influence beyond traditional music sales and performances.

“We can’t rely on one source of income anymore,” he said.

“Content creation gives us direct access to fans and brands. It’s about being smart and using every available platform.”

He added that the skills gained from content creation — including storytelling, audience engagement and consistency — are positively influenced his music.

“Everything I’m doing feeds into the bigger picture,” he said.

“Whether it’s skits, social media or music, it’s all part of building a stronger connection with my audience.”

As he prepares for the release of his forthcoming project, First Farai said fans should expect a body of work that reflects both his growth as an artist and the realities of navigating the modern entertainment landscape.

“I’m evolving, but I’m not abandoning my roots,” he said. “The music is coming, and it’s going to be worth the wait.”
