Comedian Tinaye Wayne is stepping into the spotlight with his first-ever solo nationwide tour, aptly titled "Nothing to Hide."
The tour is set to launch on June 6 at Rep’s Theatre in Harare, marking a significant milestone in his career as he transitions from intimate pub sets to the grand stage.
After a year-long hiatus from major venues—during which he honed his craft in the "smaller rooms" of bars and pubs—Tinaye is ready to deliver a performance rooted in radical honesty.
"The name says it all," Tinaye said. "I’m coming to the people raw and unfiltered, telling stories of my everyday life experiences. I realized that the best way to do comedy is to tell my truth."
The comedian hopes his vulnerability will resonate with fans, offering a "thank God someone finally said it" moment for audiences navigating similar life challenges.
He describes the tour as "well-thought-out" and a deliberate shift in his professional journey.
"Expect a more mature Tinaye. I have seen a lot now, and in my immaculate maturity, I am much sharper. I am more intentional now."
Despite his extensive experience performing alongside other acts, this solo venture represents a leap of faith. Tinaye admitted to a mix of adrenaline and anxiety regarding the upcoming shows.
