The show started on a low note during the beginning of the week but picked on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as the exhibition come to an end. Several exhibitors who spoke to The Standard said business was brisk towards the end of the show and they made important business contacts that would hopefully help them grow their business ventures.

One of the exhibitors, Tendai Chamba of William Smith & Gourock Manufacturers, said business was good during the week. “Business was high during the week but yesterday most people came for fun and nothing else,” said Chamba. This year’s show attracted a total of 780 exhibitors from both the local and international scene.

This was the same number of exhibitors who attended last year. Local companies that exhibited at this year’s show included FirstTel, Seedco, Delta, Zimco and Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara), among others. Zimbabwe Agriculture Society (ZAS) public relations manager, Heather Madombwe said the number of companies that exhibited this year was the same as last year.

“We do have new players but they are replacing those that closed shop like the Rubber Company, so the number is still the same. As for the international exhibitors, we have the Italian embassy exhibiting for the first time,” she said. The total number of people who passed through the gates was not immediately available. The show was officially opened by Lesotho Prime Minister Thomas Motsoahae Thabane on Friday.
