SUPERSPORT on DStv has secured the licence to broadcast throughout sub-Saharan Africa the premium package of Barclays Premier League football matches from the United Kingdom and will be showing these matches on SuperSport from this weekend.

Elizabeth Dziva, public relations and publicity manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said SuperSport already held what were known as Live Package A and B rights for South Africa and Live Package B rights for the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa, but had now secured all Premier League live rights for the remainder of the 2008/2009 season and for the whole of the next season.

“This means that Zimbabwean DStv viewers will join other Premiership fans throughout Africa and elsewhere in the world in watching the cream of the matches from what is the world’s most popular football league,” she said.

SuperSport has a long association with the Premier League and a history of showcasing the finest international club soccer on its range of channels. – Own Correspondent.
