ZIMBABWE international Edward Sadomba’s move to Sudanese champions Al-Hilal has finally been completed after a month of uncertainty, but the striker has been suspended indefinitely after playing just one game.
Initially the move was stalled when the north African club failed to honour the big-money transfer deal, forcing Bidvest Wits to recall the player.

 But while the release of Sadomba from Wits is now sealed, yet another new chapter of the saga has opened, with the player now on suspension by the country’s governing body until further notice.
 It appears Al-Hilal have broken a Sudanese regulation regarding foreign players.
 Wits coach Roger de Sa tells KickOff.com the deal is now sealed and the matter is no longer in their hands.
 “The deal is done now and the player now belongs to Al-Hilal,” he says. “All has been sorted out and the payments made. It would appear that there was another controversy that his international clearance was issued to Sudan by Safa instead of the Mozambican national football association where he last played.
 “This mistake was prompted by the fact that the player belonged to us as he had a contract with the club, but had spent time in Mozambique on loan. But as far as we are concerned that has also now been all sorted out with the clearance being issued in the right way.”

 Sadomba played in the Champions League match against Al Merriekh last week, but the new storm has arisen due to claims that Sudanese clubs are not allowed to register a foreign player during the second registration period unless he is on loan.
Al-Hilal say they have acquired the player on loan, although Wits maintain that the transfer is on a permanent basis. Â
 Al Merriekh are said to have already filed a protest with CAF, which has forced the player to be put on immediate suspension.
 Sadomba was signed by Wits late last year on a three-year contract from Zimbabwean club Dynamos, but was then loaned out to Mozambican side Athletico Muculmana as the Clever Boys had already exhausted their foreign player quota. – kickoff.com.
