BY ALBERT MARUFU CRISIS-ridden Dynamos’ bid to float shares collapsed yesterday as the team announced the final 26-member squad for the African Champions League with nine new players coming on board including Charles Chiutsa and Nicholas Alifandika.

The club also welcomed back goalkeeper Washington Arubi and Murape Murape who had jumped ship.

Sources who attended the emergency meeting held yesterday said the Dynamos chairman Farai Munetsi was not even given a chance to present the blue print on the floating of shares and was told right in his face that “it was the prerogative of the board of directors”. The meeting was held at the club offices located at the National Sports Stadium.

“Munetsi (Farai) was told that the issue of floating shares was the prerogative of the board of directors and not the executive,” the source said. However, the chairman, Munetsi, who was flanked by chief executive officer Casper Muzenda emerged from the meeting singing a different tune after meeting the board of directors.

“We have presented our case of listing the club on the stock exchange and the board is currently deliberating on it. We have put the proposal to the board and I am sure something positive is going to crop up. I am not going to reveal much on the issue of shares as it is still under the consideration of the board.” Munetsi said
