FC Platinum through to Bob 88 finals

A goal in each half by Donald Ngoma and Joel Ngodzo was enough to send FC Platinum to the finals of the Bob 88 Super Cup after beating Motor Action 2-1 at Sakubva yesterday.

FC Platinum were a far much better side in the first half but wasted numerous scoring chances.

Motor Action had their own chances in the first half after Gift Phiri beat a cluster of his markers before unleashing a thunderous shot that missed the upright post with Tafadzwa Dube in goals for FC Platinum a beaten man.

A moment before the breather, Ngoma tapped home a Ngodzo free kick from the edge of the box to give Platinum the lead.In the 50th minute FC Platinum increased their lead when Ngoma raced on the left flank beating his marker before crossing the ball that fell on the path of the sure footed Ngodzo who fired it home.

Bulls pulled one back in injury time when referee Masimba Chihohwa awarded them a penalty after FC Platinum defender Cabby Kamhapa had handled inside the box. Up-stepped Godfery Moyo who hit the cross bar before bouncing back into the field of play but Chihohwa surprised many by signaling for a goal. — Kenneth Nyangani in Mutare
