Mashonaland Eagles lock horns with Southern Rocks at Harare Sports Club while Matabeleland Tuskers welcome last season’s Stanbic Twenty20 (T20) champions Mountaineers at Queens Sports club in 50 over matches.

All teams would be expected to field their full strength squads, as players who were on national duty with Zimbabwe’s senior team are back in the country after being booted out in the first round of the T20 World Cup in Sri-Lanka.

This season would be hectic, as there would be more playing days due to the weekly T20 fixtures that would be part of the season. Former Zimbabwe national team player and Mountaineers head coach Gary Brent, said they started preparations early this month and believe that they were now ready for the new season.

He announced that they had lured all-rounder Gregory Lamb.

“ l think my players are now ready for the new season. We have been conducting our practice sessions at Mutare Sports Club. We will be aiming to start the season on a good note against Matabeleland Tuskers away,’’ he said.
