The Dynamos and Gunners tie will be played at Kwekwe’s Baghdad Stadium while the Colliery host Highlanders and Monomotapa. Gunners coach Moses Chunga has warned Dynamos ahead of today’s Mbada Diamonds Cup quarter final tie.

Chunga, who lifted the league championship with the same side in 2009, said they would want to win the tournament to atone for the awful season in which they are fighting relegation.

“It is going to be an interesting game because Dynamos are playing very well. The funny thing is that every player in my team is now fit for the game,” he said.

“That Dynamos beat us in the league game counts for nothing as this is a different game. I do not live in the past because I am not a historian.”

Dynamos assistant coach Tichaona Diya said his charges were ready for the game despite some of their players facing bans from Zifa over match-fixing allegations while defender Guthrie Zhokinyu has been handed a life ban.

Diya said the technical team has been talking to the players to remain positive despite the fact that some of them were facing bans.

“It is our job to psyche the players and I am sure they got the message. From their body language, you could see that they are raring to go. Gunners are a tricky side and we will treat them with respect. Being the defending champions, it is going to be tough for us as every team will be aiming to beat us,” he said.

Elsewhere, Highlanders have a tricky tie on their hands as they take on Monomotapa at the Colliery.

Monomotapa became the first team in the league this season to beat Highlanders who had gone on a 23-match unbeaten run.
