HARD-tackling defender and Buffaloes Player of the Year Themba Ndlovu has finally opened-up about his intended move to Highlanders. REPORT BY KENNETH NYANGANI
Ndlovu revealed to this newspaper his passion to play for the Bulawayo giants.
The talented defender, who was born in the City of Kings at Mpilo Hospital 27 years ago, has been a revelation at the Mutare-based army side after he helped them end the season on a respectable sixth position.
Ndlovu played at Premiership side Motor Action for three seasons until 2011, winning a league title in 2010 and the BancABC Sup8r Cup in 2011 after beating Highlanders 1-0 in the final at Barbourfields.
A move to Highlanders will see him reuniting with former teammates at Mighty Bulls: Masimba Mambare, Milton Ncube and Bhekipilo Ncube.
There are high chances that another Mighty Bulls player Fortune Ncube might also join Bosso.
Ndlovu could not deny that he was spotted in the company of Highlanders officials saying that it was his childhood dream to play at Highlanders before adding that he was yet to finalise on his 2013 move.
“I am back for training with Buffaloes but we are yet to agree on certain terms for this coming season. It’s true that I have been spotted with Highlanders officials. It has been my dream to don the black and white jersey. I hope we are going to meet somewhere with the army side so that I can play for them for this season.

“I’m a staunch Highlanders fan and it is my dream that one day I’m going to play for them, but whenever l play against Bosso my aim is to beat them,” he said.
Buffaloes spokesperson Tendai Chitowa said the club had not received any official communication from any club regarding the player.
“We are yet to receive any formal communication from any club. The good thing is that the player signed a two-year contract which means he still has a year to play in his contract,” Chitowa said.
Ndlovu played for Highlanders juniors briefly before moving to Kadoma during his primary scholl level in the 90s after his mother was transferred to the small town.
In Kadoma he played for former Northern Region Division One side David Whitehead together with former Highlanders and Dynamos star Cuthbert Malajila.
He was then snatched by Lloyd Mutasa at the then Eastern Region Division side Kiglon in 2004 before joining former premiership side Eastern Lions mid- 2006 and signing for Motor Action almost two years later.
