The new deal, according to inside sources, is for the whole season and is subject to renewal at the end of the term if certain set conditions are met.

The two parties have been in a marriage for the past two years now as Savanna helped the army side gain promotion from Northern Region Division One two seasons ago before penning another season sponsorship deal for the 2013 soccer season.

Speaking to Standardsport on Friday, Savanna marketing personnel Gerald Gumbo confirmed the renewal of the deal but could not reveal much on the total package to be disbursed.

“As Savanna, we have agreed to yet another deal with Black Rhinos. Our sponsorship is running into the third year now. Our deals are signed on a yearly contract subject to renewal as long as certain aspects of the deal have been met. In this case both parties (Savanna and Black Rhinos) have been happy with the progress so far hence a deal was reached,” Gumbo said.

Coaxed to reveal if they were going to avail a transfer cheque for the club to beef up the squad, Gumbo minced his words and had this to say; “It is common knowledge that we are the major sponsors of Black Rhinos. So where ever and whenever they need help we are ready to chip in and assist,”

It is understood that Savanna are ready to avail a transfer package for the technical team to strengthen their squad for this season as well as the supply of new home and away kits and other training equipment.

Gumbo added that Black Rhinos had no intentions of relocating to Harare as rumoured.

“We have created a workable environment with the Kadoma community as well as Kadoma City council. So as far as we are concerned, we will be using Rimuka Stadium for the forth-coming season.”
