WARRIORS still have a chance to progress to the next stage if they beat Burkina Faso in their last Group B match at the ongoing Africa Championships (Chan) at Athlone Stadium in South Africa tomorrow.

A late goal by the Stallions to force a 1-1 draw against Morocco breathed life into the Warriors 2014 Chan campaign which had gone up in smoke after playing two goalless draws.
The Ian Gorowa-coached side who now need a calculator to progress, have so far played 180 minutes and are yet to find the back of the net, but thank God, they have not conceded as well.
Mathematically, a win will see the Warriors progressing to the quarterfinals without even worrying about result from the other Group B members, Morocco and Uganda, who they failed to beat.
With two points, Zimbabwe are third on the four-member log table headed by Uganda who have amassed a total of four points. Uganda beat Burkina Faso 2-0 in their opening match before forcing a nil-all draw against the Warriors.
Morocco lies second with two points after two draws against the Warriors in their opening match, as well as against Burkina Faso who are anchoring the log table with a single point.
If the Warriors record a win over Burkina Faso, they will take their points tally to five. If Morocco and Uganda settle for a draw, then Uganda will also take their points tally to five, meaning that Morocco will be out as they would have amassed three points. But if Morocco beat Uganda, they will take their points tally to five, meaning both teams would progress.

In the case of Uganda winning, again, the Warriors would have an advantage to progress as Morocco will still be at two points.
Another possibility that might see the Warriors progressing without scoring a goal is if Uganda beat Morocco while Warriors draw with Burkina Faso. This means the Warriors will take their points tally to three while Uganda moves to seven points.
