CRANBORNE Bullets climbed to the top of Group 3 of the Chibuku Super Cup tourney following a share of the spoils with fellow topflight newsboys Tenax in an exciting match played at Sakubva Stadium yesterday.
The Harare-based army side rescued a point after falling behind twice.
Malvern Whata’s shot from close range gave his side some relief as Tenax were threatening to soar to the top of the table since a win would have been enough.
Tenax remained in third position with the same number of points as second-placed Black Rhinos, while Manica Diamonds, with a single win, sit at the basement.
Only two teams will progress to the next round and all the teams still have to play each other once.

Group 3 has proved to be the tightest of them all with only two points separating the leaders and the bottom-placed side, with three matches left for each of the four teams.
The two topflight debutantes have proved that they are no pushovers.
Yesterday, they both played lovely football and provided good entertainment for the privileged spectators in the stadium and those watching on TV.
Malvern Dumbura opened the scoring for Tenax after profiting from a defensive blunder to fire home inside the box.
Everson Feremba replied with a goal from the penalty spot following a foul inside the box.
In the second half, Tenax started off the better side and it was no surprise when they got back ahead again.
Cranborne Bullets coach Nesbert Saruchera said he was pleased with the way his team fought back, but wanted to see an improvement, especially with his back line.
“We showed a lot of character, but as a coach, I am not happy with the way we defended. I think we will rectify some of the problems,” he said.
“Any team from our group can qualify and we want to be one of the teams that will qualify.”
Tenax coach Shadreck Mugurasave said he was pleased with what they had achieved so far considering that they were new in the topflight.
He said his team was still trying to adjust to top level football.
“It was a fair game. We are coming from Division One, so the games are difficult to adjust to. I am happy with what we have achieved since we are a new team in the top league,” he said.
Cranborne Bullets and Tenax square off again at the weekend, with Black Rhinos seeking revenge against Manica Diamonds at the same venue.
