Man in court for head-butting cop

Prosecutors said sometime in January this year, Biton had a contempt of court case and the complainant, a police officer, attended the matter.

A Harare man appeared before the Harare magistrates courts on Friday facing charges of assaulting a police officer who was on patrol.

Tedious Biton (27) appeared before Harare magistrate Sheunesu Matova.

Prosecutors said sometime in January this year, Biton had a contempt of court case and the complainant, a police officer, attended the matter.

It is alleged that Biton became very violent when he saw the complainant and his partner who was also on patrol.

The court heard Biton suddenly assaulted the police officer by head butting him three times the forehead until he became unconscious.

The complainant was referred to local clinic in Dzivarasekwa for medical attention, leading to Biton’s arrest.
