Benza gives back to the society

IN a good gesture Zifa board member Tafadzwa Benza donated football kits and balls to Sheckon Stars women's football project.

The donation was made this weekend in the eastern border city of Mutare.

Zifa Pacific Storm Eastern Region chairperson Simba Wisdom and secretary General Benjamin Chindima handed over the donation at Mutare Rural camp.

Sheckon Stars is fast growing team in Manicaland province.

From humble beginnings as a boys junior football project the Brian Mukunga led Sheckon Stars now boosts of Division Two women football outfit adding to Under 13 to 17 within its stable.

In an interview with The Standard sport yesterday Chindima was full of praises of Benza brothers.

"We want to thank comrade Benza for recognising women football it is a good gesture which is going on a long way to develop football in the country," he said.

"The new zifa board have been doing well to improve football in the country generally the Benza family have been doing wonders to improve football in the country,"Chindima added.

"We have honourable Innocent Benza who have been financing football from all age groups from the grassroots," he said.

Benza is also the owner of Premiership football side Herentials.

Herentials is doing well in the Premiership led by firebrand striker Tino Benza.

Tino have also been voted among the soccer stars in recent years and being being voted as the Castle Lager Premier League young player of the year.
