Dynamos should be wary of the wolves

The idea is for the Dynamos players to maintain their verve and team spirit and make sure that they try by all means to win all the matches that come their way.

For the first time this year, Dynamos made their 'millions' of supporters happy with a sensational 3-2 win over Scottland on a cool August 30 afternoon.

Celebrations have not yet died down and echoes of that victory are still reverberating from all the four corners of the country while everywhere the talk is about that stunning Denver Mukamba winner.

Even Scottland themselves are still trying to figure out what exactly hit them on that August day afternoon as they never expected such a turn of events especially against DeMbare.

It surely is -- without doubt -- DeMbare's best performance so far this season and one that also brought with it extra rewards as Dynamos reduced the gap between themselves and their closest relegation colleagues.

The win saw DeMbare move to 28 points, the same as Greenfuel, and just a point behind Bikita Minerals, Yadah, and Manica Diamonds and two behind Chicken Inn.

The popular Harare outfit are also just three points shy of their bitter Harare rivals Caps United whom they meet next after their home game against Triangle this coming week.

Some of the Dynamos' supporters are even crying over the international break contending that it broke off the team's rhythm as they were ready to pick up another set of three points at the expense of Genesis Mangombe's Sugar Boys.

Fine, Dynamos beat Scottland and won their four successive Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches but should be reminded that they are still second from bottom in the 18-team assembly.

Surely, it is good to celebrate a memorable victory and to enjoy six successive overall wins but not to get too excited because this is just a battle that has been won and not the war.

Only when DeMbare are right up there probably in 10th or eighth place should the Dynamos family feel comfortable and happier that the heavens have reopened.

The remaining games against Triangle, Caps United, Ngezi Platinum Stars, Highlanders, Bikita Minerals, Yadah and FC Platinum will not be easy considering that four of the teams are in the same relegation predicament.

Dynamos, however, are lucky that six of their remaining matches are all in Harare except the one they will travel to Bulawayo for a date against Highlanders.

The idea is for the Dynamos players to maintain their verve and team spirit and make sure that they try by all means to win all the matches that come their way.

The once departed -- but now returned -- team supporters should also remain United and come to matches in their thousands to support their team all the way to survival.

Now that the finger pointing is over, team supremo Benard Marriot should avoid repeating the same mistakes that chased the fans away and look forward to the future with confidence.

On its part, Dynamos itself should keep away the wolves who are coming in dressed as sheep and contributing a few thousands and all aimed at hijacking the club.

The Wolves want to be seen to be doing something now when the team is winning when they were in hiding when the team was in depths of despair and needed their help

Zimbabwean football needs DeMbare and without the team, there is no happiness in Zimbabwean football. - A battle or battles have been won and now is the time to win the war.

In the meantime, the current Moses Maunganidze leadership should stay on to finish their survival assignment.
