Allyfinae Mwanyali

BEING the first child in a family of four, Allyfinae Mwanyali describes herself as a determined and purpose-driven young lady, characteristics which contributed in her scooping of the Miss University of Zimbabwe second runner-up crown.

The 21-year old says she spent most of her childhood living in between the borders of South Africa and Zimbabwe which helped mould her character through interacting with different cultures.

“I spent half of my childhood in Zimbabwe and the other in South Africa, which I can safely say has helped me in seeing the world in a bigger picture and has pushed me to want to aim higher for myself," she said.

"I can describe myself as a goal-getter as I continuously set specific goals for myself and make sure I accomplish them despite the roadblocks,” she said.

Mwanyali who was crowned Miss UZ second princess in 2022 says she never planned on being a model.

“Whenever I was asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, being a model was not the answer but when I was in high school I started getting lots of compliments and people encouraged me to get into modelling," she said.

“I started pursuing this career path in 2021 by doing brand visibility videos and then getting into modelling shows.”

Speaking on being Miss UZ, she said:

“The crown comes with major changes and responsibilities, but it has brought me more social connections, which are helping me to achieve my set goals. The crown has also helped build my brand as I am now getting calls from clients who want to boost their products and companies through my brand.”
