Zimbabwean author and transformational speaker Kudakwashe Muganu has been honoured with the Motivational Speaking Award at the 2025 Emergie Africa Awards held recently in Midrand, South Africa.

The Harare-born visionary was recognised for his work in empowering African youths through his books and speeches.

Born and bred in Harare, Zimbabwe, Muganu started dreaming big while he was young and hoped that one day, he would be able to make meaningful impact to his surrounding community.

An avid reader by nature, Muganu developed his reading habit from an early age.

He describes himself as “an open-minded person who is willing to learn from anyone or anything because knowledge is power”.

Muganu said Christianity and his spiritual life enabled him to discover his purpose in life.

“When l was born again, this is where I discovered my purpose on this earth and l work so hard each an everyday to fulfill my destiny before I exit on this earth,” he said.

“What you have to know is that every good writer has the capability to breath his message into words.”

As a transformational speaker who is on a mission to empower, equip, add value, enlighten, develop and transform people's lives, Muganu’s assignment is to usher people into greatness by giving them information that can awaken people to pursue their dreams.

He said his desire was for fellow youths to believe in themselves and know their worth and abilities.

“To all youngsters, believe in yourself, your worth and abilities,” he said.

“Do not be afraid to stand up for what you believe in, even if it means to stand alone — do it.

“Your uniqueness is your superpower and your dreams are worth chasing.”

Muganu said he was working on a new publication, which he is set to release before the year ends.

“I want to remind all the writers that your voice matters, your story matters and your presence matters,” he said.

“Do not let anyone dull your sparkle or dim your light.

“Keep shining, keep pushing boundaries and keep breaking the ceilings.

“Success is not about today only, but it is a continuation of yesterday’s activities.

“I am working very hard to release a new book before the year end of 2025.”

Muganu said his greatest dream was to scoop a Nama Award so that it takes and reignites his work and purpose moving into the future.
