Chivayo sold me A dummy, claims chief hwenje

In a social media post, Hwenje expressed his frustration, stating: “Please, it's been two years, and I'm still being insulted in my inbox when I move around.”

ZANU PF praise singer Chief Shumba Hwenje, famed for his hit Mai Welly, has publicly accused controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo of reneging on a promise of a US$50 000 house.

Hwenje, who has been a recipient of Chivayo’s recent spending spree on Zanu PF affiliates, claims the house never materialised.

In a social media post, Hwenje expressed his frustration, stating: “Please, it's been two years, and I'm still being insulted in my inbox when I move around.”

“Stop, guys, I didn't get anything. The house issue was just talk that went around, and I was taken for a ride, being told I got something when I didn't.”

He further elaborated on his WhatsApp status, asserting that Chivayo had lied to him and that he had even been “bewitched” over the unfulfilled pledge.

Hwenje went on to share a puzzling proverb on his WhatsApp status, hinting that he has been associating with the wrong crowd.

His cryptic message serves as a subtle warning, suggesting he has learnt a tough lesson about the dangers of keeping undesirable company.

“If you get on the wrong train, get off at the next station; the longer you stay, the more expensive the return trip will be,” he wrote.

The proverb is a metaphorical expression that emphasises the importance of recognising and correcting mistakes early on.

Staying on the wrong path, whether it's a literal train ride or a metaphorical life choice, will only lead to greater difficulty and cost in the long run.

This revelation comes after Hwenje's cancer diagnosis last year, which ignited public debate about Zimbabwe's ailing healthcare system.

His illness drew widespread criticism of the country's healthcare, which many Zimbabweans believe has suffered from chronic underfunding, corruption, and mismanagement for decades.
