
UNLIKE most musicians, who emerge on the music scene with songs inspired by childhood suffering, love, poverty and death, among others; for Sally 8N, it is every polished work she puts out to the public that fuels her drive to continue growing as a musician she is today.
Born Sally Ngandu, a rising multi-talented musician and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics degree from Great Zimbabwe University, explained that the burning fire in her heart is everything she needs for her to keep soaring to greatest heights.
“My inspiration comes from every work I have put out there. Recorded or unrecorded, it's the craft and finish that goes into the work that matters most,” said Sally 8N.
Speaking on her unwavering understand and love for music, Sally 8N said music was everything that brings about meaning and purpose to her.
“Music is the one thing that makes me feel truly alive and connected to myself and others,” she said.
“I create music because it’s my way of sharing that connection with the universe. It is my language, my therapy and my passion.
“Music allows me to express emotions and thoughts that I struggle to put into words.
“Through music, I aim to touch hearts, spark conversations, and inspire others to feel, think, and connect, I create music to challenge myself, to explore new sounds and styles, and to push beyond my comfort zone.

“Through music, I learn more about myself, my passions, and my purpose.”
Sally 8N said just like other professions, the music industry has its own demands that should be met without compromise for one to excel.
She further explained her on the need to be punctual in balancing time for practice, production and private life.
“A lot of sacrifices have gone into establishing myself in the industry,” she said.
“Managing activities has been an uphill task that l faced, experienced and now am conquering.
“I am glad, that l have a supportive and wonderful family on my side.
“Their unwavering support helps me in my quest to navigate the industry with ease.”
She added: “Coming from a family of musicians, has been a blessing.”
“Whenever I create something new, they are the first ones to boost my confidence, reminding me to stay true to my art and keep following my dreams.”
Sally 8N’s notable songs include Day Come, featuring Cliftan (Mystic Warrior X Rasco di man) released in 2021 and Wakuvhaira (2025).
Defining Sally 8N without reviewing her featured performance list laden with songs that includes, Gone Away, featuring Jeffy (2014), Kana Ukandi Ramba, featuringt General Waspy (2014), Control, featuring Drey (2019), My Thoughts Riddim, a Riverbank Records project (2021), Mushandi, featuring The Groove Band (2022) as well as Assurance, featuring Advokate I (2025) would not do just to her career.
And the multi-genre artiste is expecting to release an experimental project before end of this year.
“I am hopping to release my debut EP in September this year,” said Sally 8N, who is also a seasoned member of The Groove Band.
