New medical awards on the cards

Located in Eastlea, Harare, Aurum Aesthetic and Cosmetic Surgery has emerged as a beacon of transformation in Zimbabwe’s beauty and wellness industry. Co-founded by medical aesthetician Pamela Munemo and renowned cosmetic surgeon Johannes Marisa, the clinic has earned a reputation as a trusted sanctuary for those seeking both aesthetic enhancement and holistic rejuvenation.

Blending artistry with medical precision, Aurum offers a range of cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatments — from Botox and body contouring to stem cell therapy and advanced anti-aging innovations. The clinic’s philosophy goes beyond surface beauty, empowering clients with renewed confidence, improved mental well-being, and lasting results.

As part of its broader mission to promote excellence in health and wellness, Aurum will host the inaugural Aurum Aesthetic and Cosmetic Surgery Medical Awards on November 28 at Newlands Country Club in Harare. The event, directed by Marisa, seeks to honour medical practitioners, corporates and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to public health and well-being.

“For a long time, medical practitioners have been some of the unsung heroes in our society,” Marisa said. “During the Covid-19 pandemic, our doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to save lives. This awards ceremony is our way of recognising their diligence and sacrifice. We may not be able to honour everyone, but we want to appreciate those identified as exceptional.”

With Aurum’s growing reputation for innovation and safety, Standard Style (SS) caught up with Pamela Munemo (PM), who shared insights into the clinic’s approach and vision.

SS: What sets Aurum Aesthetic and Cosmetic Surgery apart from others in the industry?

PM: Aurum is more than just a cosmetic clinic — it’s a centre for transformation. We combine advanced, minimally invasive procedures with personalised care, offering both surgical and non-invasive therapies. Our aim is to provide end-to-end solutions for beauty, health, and wellness.

SS: What treatments do you specialise in?

PM: We specialise in liposuction with minimal downtime, tummy tucks, fat transfer, grafting, mass and growth removals, and Botox — not just for beauty, but also to treat excessive sweating and migraines. We also offer acne and stretch mark management, hyperpigmentation correction, hair restoration, keloid management, IV therapies, stem cell treatments, peptide stacks, and world-class anti-aging procedures.

SS: How do these treatments contribute to overall wellness?

PM: Our goal is to enhance both outer beauty and inner well-being. Treatments such as IV therapies, stem cell rejuvenation, and peptide stacks work at a cellular level to boost vitality, while procedures like acne management and skin rejuvenation improve confidence and daily quality of life.

SS: What is your vision for Aurum moving forward?

PM: Our vision is to continue leading the aesthetic industry in Zimbabwe by combining cutting-edge medical technology with world-class patient care. We want to create a safe and empowering space where clients know they’re receiving the best possible treatments with lasting results.

SS: What advice would you give to someone considering aesthetic treatment for the first time?

PM: Start your journey with professionals you can trust. At Aurum, we guide our clients every step of the way — ensuring they understand the procedures, outcomes, and expectations. Beauty should be a journey of empowerment, and we’re here to walk that journey together.

With its focus on excellence, safety, and innovation, Aurum Aesthetic and Cosmetic Surgery continues to redefine beauty in Zimbabwe — proving that true transformation begins from within.
