Gweru acapella shines in city performance

RADIANCE Acapella

RADIANCE Acapella, a musically gifted Seventh-day Adventist ensemble, delivered a flawless and spirit-lifting performance at the Gweru Theatre during a recent concert held to promote their sixth and latest album, Freedom (2025).

The group captivated the audience with rich harmonies, polished stage presence and seamless vocal blends, reaffirming their reputation as one of the region’s finest a cappella outfits.

Known for their tightly woven vocals and worship-centred repertoire, Radiance performed a well-curated selection of original compositions alongside classic Adventist pieces.

Speaking during a joint interview, twin brothers Ronald Kudakwashe and Roland Tinashe Muyedzenga described Gweru as their spiritual and creative home.

“We started this musical outfit during our time as students at Midlands State University (MSU), and for that reason we deeply identify with Gweru. This city is our home and a major source of inspiration,” they said.

The group’s disciplined arrangements, effortless transitions and confident delivery showcased a level of musical maturity that left the audience impressed.

“We are doing everything we can to maintain a high standard of professionalism in all our engagements,” the duo added.

“Our roots are grounded in Seventh-day Adventist beliefs, and everything we do is centred on the principles imparted by the church. However, the message we carry is universal.

“Our music is for everyone, regardless of denomination, which is why we share it openly with all audiences.”

The concert drew an enthusiastic crowd, with attendees praising the group’s professionalism and spiritual sincerity.

Many described the performance as “refreshing,” “well-coordinated,” and “a testament to the group’s dedication and growth.”

Dubbed a “homecoming concert,” the Gweru show formed part of Radiance Acapella’s nationwide tour inspired by their latest album, Freedom (2025).

The ensemble boasts at least six albums, including earlier projects such as I Believe and A Level High, which helped cement their standing in gospel a cappella music.

Radiance Acapella has also performed in several African countries, including Botswana, South Africa and Kenya, and continues to enjoy a growing international audience.

“We have listenership across the globe, including the UK, Serbia and North America,” said the twin brothers. “For us, this global reach is both humbling and encouraging.”
