Sanyati widow says she is being tormented by mysterious forces

A Sanyati-based widow, Abigel Piason, claims she has been experiencing unexplained disturbances which she believes are caused by evil spirits, prompting her to seek help from a traditional healer.

Piason, a mother of five, said the disturbances began while she was living in Chakari, forcing her to flee to Sanyati in search of safety.

Despite relocating, she alleges that the incidents continued.

“I am in deep trouble. While I was staying in Chakari, I was being tormented by what I believe are evil spirits. Stones would mysteriously hit the house and groceries would be emptied without anyone touching them,” she said.

Due to the severity of the alleged disturbances, Piason said she sought assistance from Glendale-based traditional healer Sekuru Nyangatayani, who later visited her home to conduct cleansing rituals.

“The torment became unbearable, so I engaged Sekuru Nyangatayani for help. He came and performed rituals at my house, and since then, things have somewhat returned to normal,” Piason added.

Her sons, Francis and Alison, also said they witnessed the bizarre occurrences and described the experience as traumatic.

“I used to think these were just myths, but when our mother came here, we witnessed some of the strangest things in our lives. Since Sekuru Nyangatayani intervened, the situation has improved,” said Francis.

Alison echoed similar sentiments, saying the family had found relief following the healer’s intervention.

“We were in serious trouble, but after his intervention, there is now peace in the household,” he said.

Sekuru Nyangatayani confirmed that he was assisting the family, adding that the process was ongoing.

“This is not something that ends in one day. We are still working with the family. During our rituals, we discovered what appeared to be a goblin hidden in a wardrobe, which we destroyed. However, the process of cleansing is still underway,” he said.

He added that further rituals would be conducted to ensure lasting protection for the family.
