Kadoma Central Member of Parliament, Gift Mambipiri, has launched the third edition of the “From Streets to Schools” scholarship programme, reinforcing his commitment to youth empowerment through education.

The initiative, officially unveiled last Wednesday in Kadoma, targets academically gifted but underprivileged Grade 7 learners within the constituency, offering them an opportunity to pursue their studies without the burden of financial constraints.

Now in its third year, the scholarship programme has become a cornerstone of Mambipiri’s education-focused development agenda, consistently supporting learners from disadvantaged backgrounds and opening pathways to brighter futures.

Speaking at the launch,Mambipiri underscored the transformative power of education.

“Education is the key to unlocking opportunities, and it is our responsibility to ensure that our brightest minds are not held back by circumstances,” he said.

“We are committed to making a difference in the lives of our young people, and this scholarship is just the beginning.”

The scholarship fund will cover school fees and other essential educational expenses, easing the financial burden on families while enabling beneficiaries to focus fully on their studies.

Ashington Muyeye, chairperson of the scholarship committee, hailed the initiative as a lifeline for many deserving learners.

“This scholarship is a beacon of hope for many students in Kadoma. We are committed to ensuring that the funds are used effectively and transparently to change lives,” he said.

The programme places strong emphasis on merit and need, identifying learners who demonstrate academic excellence but lack the financial means to continue their education.

The MP’s office works closely with schools and local authorities to ensure that support reaches the most deserving candidates.

Parents of beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude on the sidelines of the event.

“I am overwhelmed with joy that my child will be able to continue with his education without worrying about school fees,” said Kenneth Kanjungu. “Thank you, Hon Mambipiri, for this wonderful initiative.”

Another parent, Hazvineyi Nyandoro, echoed similar sentiments.

“I wish there were more programmes like this. This scholarship has given my child a chance to succeed, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” she said.

The launch of the latest edition of the “From Streets to Schools” scholarship programme stands as a testament to Mambipiri’s dedication to investing in human capital and shaping a better future for Kadoma.

By prioritising education, the MP hopes not only to uplift individual learners but also to contribute meaningfully to long-term community and national development.

As the programme takes off, it is expected to continue inspiring hope, opportunity, and social change, while encouraging other leaders to place education at the centre of development efforts.
