“This is the first event of its kind in Zimbabwe and we are confident it will change the local entertainment landscape. We are also looking forward to hosting more editions in the coming years.”

“Brother in House Zimbabwe is a reality TV show similar to Big Brother Africa, where contestants live together in a house and are voted out by viewers. The show aims to promote Zimbabwean culture and showcase local talent,” he said.
According to organisers, the response from aspiring contestants exceeded expectations.
“We received 5 000 applications, and 320 contestants made it to the final round after completing the given task,” organisers revealed.
Voting has now opened for Zimbabweans to select their favourite contestants who will make up the final top 38 housemates.
“There will be surprise celebrity participants in the house, but we will keep their identities under wraps for now,” organisers added.
The house has already been completed and fully equipped for the three-month production.
“The house is ready, cameras are rolling, and the show will run for three months,” said organisers.
The competition house has been divided into “Brother” and “Sister” dormitories where contestants will participate in various challenges designed to test strategy, endurance, creativity and entertainment value.
Organisers said all necessities, including food, clothing and beverages, will be provided throughout the competition.
Promotional material for the show has already begun airing on Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation television channels, while organisers say the programme will also be broadcast on an international platform accessible to global audiences.
The launch of Brother in House Zimbabwe builds on Zimbabwe’s long-standing footprint within the Big Brother franchise, where local contestants have consistently made strong impressions.
Among Zimbabwe’s most successful representatives is Wendall Parson, who became the first Zimbabwean to win Big Brother Africa during the Amplified season in 2011.
Munyaradzi Chidzonga, popularly known as Munya, also became one of Africa’s most recognisable reality television stars after finishing third in Season Three before competing in the Big Brother Africa All-Stars edition.
Pokello Nare transformed her appearance on Big Brother Africa: The Chase into a successful luxury fashion brand, while Makosi Musambasi gained international recognition following her controversial participation in Big Brother UK in 2005.
Other memorable Zimbabwean contestants over the years include Tapuwa Mhere, Roki, Maneta Mazanhi and Vimbai Mutinhiri.
Organisers said the project was designed not only to entertain audiences, but also to create opportunities for Zimbabwean creatives and ordinary citizens.
“We want to create a platform that showcases Zimbabwean culture, talent and personalities to the world. This is more than just entertainment — it is an opportunity for local creatives and ordinary citizens to shine on a global stage,” he said.
