Bulawayo Musicians Association spokesperson, Khulekani Bethule, who is also a kwaito musician, said most musicians in the city were complaining that during shows that were held in the city last year, especially during the festive season, they were sidelined from performance line-ups.

“Musicians want to meet the promoters and find out from them what the problem could be. A lot of events were held in December, where international musicians performed in the city and local artists were not involved,” said Bethule.

He said the meeting would seek to establish if the musicians were being ignored because of poor-quality productions.

“We want the promoters to come out clear and tell us what needs to be done. They should tell us where the musicians need to improve.Promoters can help us change the situation,” he said.
