THE Palestinian embassy will hold an Under 15 soccer tournament on Sunday.
The tournament, which will run under the theme “Al Quds Capital of Arabic Culture”, will be held at Prince Edward School.Hosts Prince Edward, Churchill, Allan Wilson, Ellis Robins and Lord Malvern will contest. The Palestinian embassy said they want to use the tournament to celebrate Jerusalem as the capital of Arab Culture.“This is the city whose walls, gates, streets, houses and people reflect diverse dynasties and cultures. It is on this land that civilisation took the first step toward enlightenment, a path with intertwined cultural, spiritual, and human dimensions,” read a statementThe embassy also said they want to reaffirm that East Jerusalem is the capital of the independent Palestinian state and its Arab cultural identity and in support of the steadfast news of its people against the Israeli occupation and the promotion of commitment to a national and unified Arab identity.The top three teams will receive prizes as well as medals. –– Staff Writer.
