Albert marufuThe Mighty Warriors technical team has decided to bring back forgotten striker Rufaro Machingura in the fold as they prepare to finish off the Lady Zebras at Rufaro this afternoon.

Machingura is confident of playing a leading role in the team’s CAF African Woman Championships preliminary second leg after missing the first leg in Botswana two weeks ago due to suspension.

The towering striker is back in the team after serving her “suspension” on disciplinary grounds. She last donned the Mighty Warriors jersey at the All Africa games in Maputo, Mozambique.

However, the gifted striker is confident of regaining her first team place in the team that has a 1-0 lead going into the second leg after their victory in Botswana two weeks ago.

“I have been out for a long time but I feel I can contribute something if selected. A lot has happened that contributed to my failure to play for the team ranging from my mother’s illness to my injury. However, I am fit to play for the team,” she said.

The team’s technical advisor Klaus Pajels said the team has the quality to upstage Botswana

“We are working on the team’s defence and I have seen how the opposition play. I am sure the girls are ready for the game,” he said.

Reliable striker Rudo Neshamba was looking sharp at training and so was the ever green Marjory Nyaumwe in the middle of the park. Zimbabwe, coached by Rosemary Mugadza, will face African power house Nigeria if they get past Botswana in today’s match.
