Mighty Bulls in dramatic comeback

BY ABERT MARUFUMotor Action... (0) 3Blue Rangers….(2) 2MOTOR Action came from behind to beat winless Blue Rangers in an incident filled match at Motor Action Sports Club yesterday.

Former Motor Action player Tawanda Ushe had thrust the bottom-placed Rangers in the lead in the second minute before adding another one in the 25th minute after capitalising on a mistake by Bulls goalkeeper Marlon Jani.

However, Motor Action had other ideas as they came back into the match in the 69th minute through  a strike by Gift Phiri with Morris Kadzola, adding the equaliser from the spot in the 74th minute after referee Nkanyiso Moyo adjudged that Fungayi Mukwayira had handled in the box.

The Bulls then stole the match six minutes later when far side assistant referee Collin Muringayi adjudged that Rangers goalkeeper Jonathan Zvaita had handled Blessing Chimwamuchere’s header after it had crossed the line.

The last two Motor Action goals did not go down well with most of the fans at the venue who felt that the match officials, led by Harare referee, Moyo were biased towards Motor Action with Rangers coach Wishes Shiridzinomwa leading the charge.

“We could have won the match had it not been for poor officiating from the referees. My players did everything to win the match but Motor Action were presented with victory by match officials,” he said.

At Morris Depot, Tawanda Tafirenyika reports that Black Mambas recovered from their 4-1 drubbing by Dynamos last weekend to force a draw against former champions Monomotapa in a tightly contested Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Morris Depot yesterday.

Former Dynamos winger Nicholas Alifandika thrust Black Mambas into the lead on 23rd minute — clinically finishing off a headed pass from Peter Kachirika.

With technical director Moses Chunga directing operations from the bench in the absence of head coach John Ncube, who is attending a CAF B Licence coaching course in the capital, the police team looked on course to cause a major upset as they carved out good chances in the first half. However, Monomotapa found the equaliser after 75 minutes through Kuda Musharu who raced clear following a set up by Tawanda Nyamandwe before directing the ball past the advancing Mambas goalkeeper Learnmore Jere.
