JOHANNESBURG — First Division club, FC AK, have elevated long-serving midfielder, Elasto Kapowezha (formerly Lungu), to the head coach post after being abandoned by their previous coach, Jerobeam Koert, due to alleged financial troubles.

Report byKickOff Kapowezha will take charge this season, moving swiftly to the bench at a club that he has served with loyalty since 2006, despite the perennial money troubles. Joseph Cotty, who runs the club affairs, confirmed that the former Zimbabwe international would be in charge this season.

Despite having expressed his desire to retire last season, Kapowezha — who also played for AmaZulu, Ria Stars, Pietersburg Pillars and Wits — was forced to play on for another season but has now finally been granted his wish to hang his boots.

FC AK have also brought in former Jomo Cosmos midfielder, Papi Mngomezulu, while they will also be completing the signing of Lucky Mzizi.
