In a communique sent to member associations, ITF expressed regret at the delay and promised to come up with the dates and venues in two weeks’ time.

The world tennis controlling body normally informs its member associations of the venue and dates around November and December, but they are still to do so.

TZ Zimbabwe administrator Cliff Nhokwara confirmed receipt of the ITF correspondence, adding that the delay might affect the host nation. “The delay will not affect the players in any way. In fact, it gives the players time to participate in more tournaments,” he said.

Zimbabwe has for the past two years offered to host the tournament without success.

However, this year they did not bid to host it.

Eygpt hosted last year’s edition with Takanyi Garanganga, Mark Fyn, Tinotenda Chanakira and Martin Dzuwa, helping Zimbabwe to a third place finish.

Morocco and Egypt were promoted to Europe/Africa Zone Group Two.
