The Zifa board will on Thursday decide on the fate of Warriors coach Ian Gorowa at a meeting in Harare while Libya has approached the Warriors for an international friendly match in September.

The Cuthbert Dube-led board will analyse recommendations recently forwarded to them by the Zifa High Performance Technical Committee (HPTC) before making a determination on the coach.
Gorowa led the Warriors to the worst ever campaign in their international football history following a first round exit from the Afcon qualifiers at the hands of Tanzania.
The HPTC met and made recommendations on Gorowa two weeks ago amid speculation they asked for his exit following a public spat with the committee’s vice-chairman Gibson Homela.
Zifa chief executive officer Jonathan Mashingaidze said decisions would also be made on other national team coaches.
“A decision has to be made on the coach without fail,” said Mashingaidze.
“The board will look at the submissions of the High Performance Committee and then pass a resolution based on the recommendations. This applies to other national teams as well because we have assignments coming up. Look at the Olympic qualifiers and the Cosafa Under-20 as well as the Mighty Warriors. We have to set their technical teams for the next four years.”
Lloyd Chigova is currently in charge of the Under-17 team, Jairos Tapera oversees the Under-20s while Kallisto Pasuwa was verbally appointed Under-23 coach after Peter Ndlovu quit for a managerial post at Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Under-17 and 20s are currently serving a CAF ban after failing to fulfill their respective away assignments in 2012.
Zimbabwean football has hit its lowest ebb with the Mighty Warriors also failing to qualify for the African Women’s Championships.
The quick exit from the Afcon qualifiers has thrown the Warriors into international football isolation.
They however have a chance to stay active on periods September 1-9, October 6-14 and November 10-18 which are set as Fifa international friendly days.
Meanwhile, Zifa are currently in discussion with Libya for an international friendly match in September when the Warriors are likely to have a new coach.
“A Libyan match agent approached us while we were in Brazil and the setting up of a friendly game is just as good as done. What is left is just to sign the match-staging agreement. The plan is for Libya to host us in Morocco because no international matches are currently allowed to be played in Libya due to political instability,” Mashingaidze said.
Thursday’s board meeting will be followed by a Zifa council extraordinary meeting on Friday.
The promotion and demotion of PSL teams would be part of the agenda.
The PSL has objected the relegation of four teams at the end of each season as it would mean 25 percent of the league being demoted.
Zifa has four Division One regions and the PSL want two or three teams promoted.
