Flame Lily welcome How Mine

If Luke “Vahombe” Masomere’s sentiments, which some have dubbed to be the quote of the week, are anything to be fulfilled, then Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera and his Flame Lily are in big trouble as the two sides, square off at Gwanzura this afternoon.

Masomere, whose side won without kicking a ball on Thursday after CAPS United players went on a strike refusing to fulfill the fixture, was quoted as saying, “ Looking at the way we had prepared, I am convinced that we were going to beat them 6-0, but we will only be awarded three goals.”

The preparedness that Masomere beamed with will however come under scrutiny this afternoon as they face a wounded Flame Lily who have a single point to their credit after the 1-1 draw in the battle for prisons wardens last week against Whawha at Gwanzura.

Masomere will unleash his experienced side that has an intimidating attack comprising Benjamin Marere, former Highlanders striker Charles Sibanda and Kudakwashe Musharu.

In their last league match against Whawha, Saruchera was also quoted as saying he needed to work on his strike force which was a big letdown.

“My team created a lot of chances but our strikers took turns to waste those few chances that could have carried the day for us. We hope to fine-tune our finishing,” Saruchera said.

Flame Lily will travel to Zvishavane on Wednesday for a date against FC Platinum as their ancounter was postponed to allow FC platinum to play Young Africans in the Confederations Cup competition yesterday.
