FC PLATINUM have finally signed their long-term target, veteran striker Rodwell Chinyengetere from Hwange.

Chinyengetere completed his move to the Midlands together with midfielder Nqobizitha Masuku, who was on loan to Highlanders from Bantu Rovers last season.
The striker burst into the limelight at Hwange but his rise was halted by a career-threatening injury at a time he was sealing his place in the Warriors squad.
At the peak of his rise, Chinyengetere was one of the few locally-based players who commanded a first team jersey in the Warriors full strength side.
The veteran forward suffered a double fractured leg injury after a collision with former Monomotapa goalie Artwell Mukandi during a league match in the capital.
The miners have been chasing the hard-working forward from the time he proved his credentials some four years ago.
Last year Chinyengetere’s move to Zvishavane was halted by a nagging knee injury after failing his medical examination at the club.
If Chinyengetere manages to rekindle his yesteryear form, then FC Platinum’s potency is unlikely to be matched in the league. The big question that remains however is; is he still good enough to lead the miners’ attack?
The club’s media liaison officer Chido Chizondo thinks so. “Rodwell passed his medicals here and we are happy that he has recovered from the injury he suffered a while ago. He is still good enough to be a success at our club and we are confident he will be a constant hit. If we doubted his abilities then we would not have signed him,” she said.
“I can also confirm that Nqobizitha has completed his move to join us and he is now part of us as well. We have also not yet released anyone from the guys that finished the season with us. But we are still looking at a few additions to our squad. I cannot divulge the identity of those we are chasing because it might jeopardise negotiations.”
Young Warriors duo of Walter Musona and Wisdom Mutasa left the club mid-season for Europe but unceremoniously returned home months later and are set to be incorporated into the miners’ squad for next season.
Soccer star of the year finalist and Triangle star player Hillary Bakacheza is also rumoured to be on his way to Zvishavane to add more creativity in their midfield.
