The album is set to carve a place among the cross-generation of fans in the country and beyond.

The jaunty 27-year-old contemporary artist’s nine-track album produced by Sunshine is set to make her shine on the music stage, as the title of the album suggests.

The songstress, who is no stranger to fame and music, told The Standard Style that she was once a junior Member of Parliament and had started singing at a tender age, while also pursuing her education.

“Growing up, I had so much interest in singing. Serious composing came into play in 2005. I am a holder of an honours degree in Human Resources Management acquired at Midlands State University,” she said.

The album, on which Jori did both the lead vocals and backing vocals, expressing her outstandingly melodious voice in the process, can be defined as a mixed bag as it cuts across many genres.

“This album called Shaina cannot fit in one particular genre as the songs are a fusion of different beats. It is, however, more an African sound with influences of Afro fusion, R‘n’B and urban grooves.

She thanked God for taking her this far and her parents and family for allowing her to follow her passion. She also paid tribute to her manager Tafadzwa Muringisi for all the hard work.

“I am now focusing on videos and looking forward to launch a video or more end of this month. I also look forward to launch the album next month if all goes well,” she said.

Shaina is a song that urges people to appreciate who they are and be proud of that. It talks about people loving, appreciating and respecting themselves.

Other exciting tracks are Rudo Ndaruwana, Mafaro and Baba Namai, with the latter being a dedication to her parents in appreciation of their love, care and support.

Locally, she is inspired by Jah Prayzah and Andy Muridzo, while on the international front there is Adele, Zahara, Christopher Martins and Busy Signal.
