Masuku (25) joined Buildcon in January from FC Platinum, but left the side in August due to lack of game time and has been training with Highlanders.

The stocky former Bantu Rovers’ midfielder left Buildcon together with Devon Chafa and Partson Jaure.

Club chief executive officer Nhlanhla Dube confirmed that Masuku is being assessed by the club’s boss Madinda Ndlovu.

“The technical team has asked if they can have a look at him (Masuku). They (the coaches) are going to raise it with us if they want him. We have not shut shop at what the technical team might see as need,” Dube said.

Masuku might be bouncing back as cover in defensive midfield where Highlanders have the impressive Adrian Silla and Ben Musaka, who has not had a good season this year after joining the Bulawayo giants from South Africa’s National First Division side Black Leopards.

With the Chibuku Super Cup, the league title and a top-four finish appearing to have eluded Highlanders, they will be under pressure to gun for the championship next season.
