GWERU-based multi-talented artiste Forward Maphosa, populary known as Xiddo Chikandamina (pictured), is set to make his own history after he released a 12-track album titled Zvirimuropa.
He told The Standard Style that the album’s title was inspired by his “great talent”, as, according to him, music is his “blood and breath”.
“Music is my life, that’s why l came up with such a title to inform my fans that l was born a musician,” Maphosa said.
Xiddo first appeared on the music scene in 2010 when he released his first album titled Kamuitiro, which was well received by his fans and the songs still get favourable airplay on local radio stations.
The young musician boasts of 22 singles some of which were incorporated into his latest album. Some of the tracks on the album include Ndatindivara, Nyarara, Samsom Gede and Jah Jah Knows, among others.
“In Zvirimuropa, I fused Afro-pop, dancehall and Afro-jazz so as to accommodate fans from different age groups at the same time widening my fan base,” Maphosa said.

Born in Chipinge, Maposa grew up in different places such as Mutare, Rusape, Harare and Gweru. Besides being a musician, he is an engineer by profession.
He is also a devout Christian, being a member of Christ Embassy where he is in the praise and worship team.
