MUTARE-based gospel musician James Gondo has roped in veteran singer Hosiah Chipanga for his upcoming album titled Focus on Christ slated to be released this month.

The 30-year-old musician will be hoping that Chipanga’s experience would add weight into his upcoming seven-track album, his fourth project.

Gondo is doing collaborations with Chipanga on three songs Focus on Christ, Kurarama Kwedu and Mushumiri.

Some of the songs on the album are Muvengi Wako, Rudo, Kurwa Hakusikwako and Akanaka Ndimi.

Gondo applauded Chipanga for mentoring him and expressed confidence that they would come up with a quality project.

“I decided to rope in Hosiah Chipanga for my fourth album. He is a fatherly figure to me and we have been going into the studio to perfect some of my songs. We managed to do collaborations on three songs,” Gondo said.

“With Chipanga’s experience, I am very certain that we have done something, which is good. The album is coming out this month and we are doing final touches.”

The Living Testimony group leader said they were going to work on a DVD album soon after the release of the album, bemoaning lack of funds as a major constraint.

“We are going to work on some videos soon after releasing our new album, but we are yet to know the locations we are going to shoot our videos, and we have issue of money that also need to be worked out,” he said

The musician first introduced himself into the music industry with a seven-track album titled Farirai Mwari nine years ago and was still learning the ropes.

Some of the albums under his belt are Kurudziro and Vananguwe.
