HARARE giants Dynamos will be looking to begin the second half of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season with a win when they host relegation-haunted Mushowani at Rufaro this afternoon.
After a difficult start to the season, Tonderai Ndiraya has managed to stabilise the Dynamos ship at the halfway stage with the team occupying a top seven position going into the weekend fixtures.
Ndiraya revealed that the club has set itself new targets, as the season reaches the business end of the league race, but would not specify on the targets.
“We have set ourselves some targets as a team for the second round of matches and it is our desire as a team to achieve those targets as we continue our recovery to become competitive again. This match is important to us as we start the chase for our internal targets,” Ndiraya said in an interview with Standardsport yesterday.
Dynamos are just eight points behind log leaders FC Platinum with 17 matches to be played. It is understood that the Dynamos executive want the team to push for a league title challenge.
But most importantly, the executive is pleased with what Ndiraya has already achieved at this stage.
Ndiraya is wary of the threat posed by Mushowani, who ironically lost their top marksman Evans Katema to DeMbare during the mid-season transfer window.

“They are a team, which has been doing well and have posted interesting results in recent matches. They are not to be taken for granted,” he said.
“We have prepared well and we would want to collect maximum points before our passionate fans. We have had a six match sojourn in Harare and we really want to end that exciting small journey with a full set of points.”
A favourable fixture list saw Dynamos enjoy a run of six matches in Harare including today’s encounter, with five of them at Rufaro.
The team has collected nine points during the period with two wins and three draws.
Former Mushowani star Katema is set to play a starring role upfront because three forwards namely Simba Nhivi, Tawanda Macheke and skipper Edward Sadomba are l out of the tie through injury.
After scoring seven goals for Mushowani, Katema is yet to open his account for Dynamos and will be looking to come good against his former paymasters.
Mushowani, on the other hand, have been enjoying a mini revival in their fight for survival. The Madziwa-based side has gone four matches without losing a game and will be looking to carry on the form against their much-fancied opponents.
