With six secular albums under his belt, businessman-cum-musician Brian Samaita (pictured below) has released a gospel album as he takes a step in faith amid reports that the musician is now born-again.

Last week the Murondatsimba frontman released a compilation album of gospel songs plucked out of his previous secular projects, including from his latest offering Ndafunga Dembo.

Samaita recently poured his heart out on how he found Jesus Christ courtesy of the Enlightened Christian Gathering founder South Africa-based Malawian prophet, Shepherd Bushiri.

He promised that he would “ditch” secular music to concentrate on ministering the Word of God through music.

“I decided to start this new journey with a compilation album where I picked a number of gospel songs from my previous albums,” Samaita told Standard Style.

“I owe everything to Major 1 [Bushiri].

“He changed me from being an ordinary Samaita to someone who lives in Godly fear.”

Songs on the album, which were all written by Samaita, include Herudhe, taken off the album Ndafunga Dembo, Iye Anonzwa (Rinoonekwa Nemavanga), Jerusarema (Kumazivandadzoka), Solomon, as well as Peter (Murodzi Wepfungwa).

Samaita, who flies to South Africa every fortnight to attend services at the Enlightened Christian Gathering church in Pretoria, said he was working on new songs.

“I will release new gospel albums. The idea is to spread the Word. We will distribute the CDs in the church,” he said.
