Local gospel musician Bethany Pasinawako-Ngolomi has joined forces with top music producer and singer Tawanda Kasaira, better known as Dr Tawanda, in a single titled Shinga.

The single, to be released on Friday, was produced by three acclaimed producers — Dr Tawanda in South Africa, DJ Bino in Botswana and Lyton Ngolomi in Zimbabwe.

Ngolomi is Bethany’s husband and the couple has worked with a number of top local artistes.

Pasinawako-Ngolomi, who shook the gospel music scene with the hit track Ndinzverei off her debut album Aripo, confirmed to Standard Style that she had engaged Dr Tawanda.

“I did a single titled Shinga with Dr Tawanda which is coming out on February 21, but it has already gone viral on social media,” she said.

“It’s a song to uplift a person with a broken heart who could have lost hope in God. This song will be part of the album titled God’s Time, which I shall be releasing in June.

Pasinawako-Ngolomi said roping in Dr Tawanda was meant to bring a new facet in her production, which over the years has been handled by her husband.

“Working with Doc was really an eye opener. The way he captures his vocals is overwhelming. He is one person who means business when it comes to studio time,” she said.

“He will be co-producing my album alongside my husband.”

Two years ago, Pasinawako-Ngolomi released her fifth album titled Jesu Pabasa and last year she released a single titled Damba, which featured Harare preacher Prophet Tapiwa Freddy Some of the songs that fared well off her fifth album include Simudza Mnamato, Ndokutendai Nei, Handina and Nyaya Inoenda Kure.

Dr Tawanda has spent the better part of his adulthood in foreign lands, especially in Botswana and more recently South Africa producing music.

He has worked with a number of local and foreign musicians.
