Gospel musician Farai Makandanje, popularly known as Social Doctor in music circles, last weekend tied the knot with his long-time sweetheart Yvonne Chimunda.

The private wedding ceremony was held at Living Rock Events in Waterfalls, Harare.

Farai is the last born son of the late Makandanjes from Chinhoyi while Yvonne is the first-born daughter of the Chimundas from Nyanga.

Speaking to Standard Style, the Gabhurona hit maker said he felt happy to have exchanged nuptials with his long-time partner.

“A wedding is a requirement in the Constitution of our land and our Lord Jesus Christ approved it at Cana,” he said.

“So, as a minister of the Word of God or someone who believes in God, it is important to observe the laws of our society so that they also approve us before the world does.

“More so, a wedding is good for the unity of the family. I am elated.”

The event was attended by close family, friends and business partners.

Meanwhile, Social Doctor is working on a number of projects, including a new album expected to be released mid-year.

“I am in the studio finalising a single titled Makatendeka, which features Evangelist Timothy, to be released soon,” the businessman-cum-musician said.

“There are two more singles coming followed by the album in August.”

While 2019 was a tough year, Social Doctor does not regret much.

“I think 2019 was not a bad year. Even though we couldn’t meet some of our targets, we still believe we got our fair share,” he said.
