A Damafalls man has been arraigned before Harare magistrate Francis Mapfumo facing allegations of raping a sex worker on two different occasions.
Nyasha Ngwenya was remanded in custody to July 8 for trial continuation.
The woman from Norton works as a sex worker.
Prosecutors said sometime in May this year, Ngwenya approached the complainant at Jongwe Corner for sexual favours for the whole night after promising to pay her US$14.
The victim agreed to go to the accused’s place of residence, but Ngwenya allegedly produced an electrical shocker and threatened to kill the woman.
Ngwenya allegedly dragged the woman into a maize field and demanded to be intimate with her before he raped her twice without protection.
Court documents state that the victim then met Ngwenya at Jongwe Corner as he approached another sex worker and informed the police leading to his arrest.
