Agama FC salvaged a crucial point in their relentless pursuit of promotion, securing a dramatic 1-1 draw against Black Mambas FC in the late minutes of their Match Day 22 encounter at Mkushi Academy grounds.
The home team, Black Mambas FC, took an early lead, a setback for the Mount Darwin-based side who had previously lost 1-0 to the same opponents in the first leg of the season.
Agama's difficulties were compounded when their star striker, Tinashe Balakasi, was forced off the pitch just 30 seconds into the match following a dangerous tackle.
Despite the challenges, Agama FC kept fighting, and their perseverance paid off in the 86th minute when Malvin Nyauyanga found the back of the net.
The late equaliser ensured that Agama FC held on to its second position in the league with 48 points.
Addressing the media after the match, Agama FC coach Paul "Popopo" Chimalizeni admitted his team was aiming for more than a single point.
"We really wanted to win this game, and it was very important, but unfortunately, we gave them an early goal, which really disturbed everything," Chimalizeni said.
