The Mashwede Classic Golf Tournament has been a highlight on the Zimbabwean golf calendar since its inception in 2022.
The tournament, which will be held from October 4 to 5, places strong emphasis on nurturing young talent.
Falcon Golf Club captain Makiron Karidozo said the tournament is the brainchild of Mashwede Holdings founder and owner Alex Mashamhanda.
“Mashwede represented by Mr Mashamhanda has been very supportive to Falcon Golf Club and he decided that he will sponsor a golf tournament called the Mashwede Classic Golf tournament to market Falcon Golf club as a course of choice in Harare with its proximity to the airport,” he said.
“We also, through this tournament, are looking to nurture and identify talent.”
Karidozo pointed out that the tournament has grown in stature since its inception and is now attracting professional golfers.
He added that by including professional golfers to the tournament, it will spur the amateur golfers to improve their skills on the golf course.
