In a night of glitz, glamour, and unprecedented financial backing, Scottland FC solidified its status as the new powerhouse of Zimbabwean football.
During a glittering kit and player unveiling ceremony held at the Harare Sports Club on Friday night, the club revealed a ground breaking partnership with English Premier League giants Liverpool FC.
The event, attended by high-profile guests including American hip-hop icon Rick Ross, marked a historic turning point for the reigning Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League champions.
Club chairperson Everson Chatambudza took to the stage to announce that the Scottland Academy has officially partnered with Liverpool FC, a move aimed at tackling social ills through elite sport.
"Because we believe in nurturing talent and youth the right way, I’m pleased to announce that our Scottland Academy has entered into a partnership with Liverpool FC,” Chatambudza declared.
“In the wake of the scourge of drug and substance abuse that bedevil our communities, this partnership is more than football. It is a lifeline.
"We are giving our young boys a choice between the streets and the stadium; between destruction and discipline. We are bringing world-class methodology to groom players who can compete on the international stage."
This partnership follows a strategic alliance formed with South Africa’s Durban City FC last month, signalling the club's intent to build a global network.

The Scottland chairperson also lifted the lid on an ambitious infrastructural revolution.
Scottland FC is set to begin construction on a $30 million, 20 000-seater Caf-certified stadium in Mabvuku this March.
Additionally, a $15 million world-class training facility in Ruwa has already been completed.
The club's financial war chest for the 2026 season is equally staggering. With a total of US$10 million in sponsorship and 40 operational vehicles secured, the "Mabvuku boys" are well-equipped.
Notably, Ecobank contributed US$1.5 million specifically for the club’s "African Safari" in the Caf Champions League.
The evening’s climax saw a Scottland jersey, signed by President ED Mnangagwa and featuring his historic prison number, auctioned for a record US$1 million to a joint bid by Sakunda Holdings and Fossil Contracting.
Sport, Recreation, Arts, and Culture deputy minister, Emily Jesaya, lauded the club’s vision as a blueprint for national development.
"I am delighted to witness this celebration of excellence. Your achievements have inspired countless young athletes across our nation," Jesaya said.
"The 20 000-seater stadium project is a welcome development aligned specifically with the government’s goal of creating an enabling environment for our sport to thrive. We recognise football as a powerful tool for youth empowerment."
As Scottland FC prepares to face traditional giants Dynamos in the Castle Challenge Cup today, the focus remains on the continental stage.
"We are going to the Caf Champions League to carry the flag of Zimbabwe," Chatambudza concluded.
"We will be the diplomats in boots. We will carry the spirit of Mabviravira to the continent and show Africa that Zimbabwean football is alive and coming for respect."
