The Scarfmore regime has been going gaga over the latest inflation figures of the "funny money", otherwise known as Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG).
According to statistics, the inflation rate of this funny money has reached 2.9%, which the regime boasts is the lowest since 1980.
However, I doubt the majority of the country’s citizens will be as enthused by this development.
How could they celebrate the inflation rate of a currency that cannot buy even a litre of fuel?
What joy could they possibly derive from the inflation of a currency that cannot even procure a passport—which is the most sovereign (a favourite byword of the regime) of national documents?
It would border on the bizarre for the country’s citizens to celebrate the inflation of this funny money, which is outright rejected in most parts of the country in favour of the South African Rand.
It would be preposterous for the country’s citizens to pop champagne over the inflation rate of a currency that is mainly used for small change.

How on earth could the country’s citizens celebrate the inflation rate of a funny money that is even shunned by the regime itself?
Have you ever seen Scarfmore or Dr Amai II dish out this funny money when rewarding someone either for standing on their head as an act of praise, or for saving lives during the tragic Kariba ferry accident?
All in all, the news of this inflation rate of the funny money is much ado about nothing—a statistic that will bring about irritation rather than any sort of happiness.

The corruption of the country’s religious leaders has become a source of major embarrassment.
The extent of the shameful infiltration of the state into the body of the church has resulted in one Apostolic Faith Mission leader having to make a humiliating U-turn on his shameless badgering of congregants to support the Scarfed One and Zanu PF.
After having been carried away by rubbing shoulders with Scarfmore—which led to his preposterous criticism of those members of his congregation who do not support the octogenarian and the ruining party—the church leader was forced to eat humble pie following a severe backlash from congregants for spouting such balderdash.
He now insists that the church is non-partisan, in what can almost be described as a Damascene moment kikikiki.
However, this church leader can derive comfort from the fact that he is not the only one who has become overexcited by lavish gifts from the regime and its lackeys.
One prominent church leader even went as far as telling the country’s citizens that they are "too small" to criticise the Scarfed One, after becoming the recipient of a state-of-the-art vehicle accompanied by thousands of United States dollars—which, at one time, was called "real money" by the Scarfed One.
Such shameful utterances from a supposed man of the cloth are clear evidence of how religion in the country has been blurred by politics and financial greed.

This dispensation of poverty, darkness and confusion is becoming increasingly shameless in its bias.
At a Zanu PF meeting, Home Affairs minister Kazembe Kazembe openly declared that members of the ruining party should receive preferential treatment and first preference for jobs in the police, the army, and the education sector, among other positions under the Scarfmore regime.
These shocking utterances are evidence of how this country has gone to the dogs since the regime was propelled into power on the back of guns and tanks.
To have a cabinet minister call for employment to be based on one’s party card rather than merit is symbolic of the rot that has seeped into the national fabric as a result of such overzealous imbeciles.
Since the emergence of the so-called "Second Republic", nepotism, favouritism and cronyism have become the staple diet permeating the corridors of power.
The insinuation that one must be a member of Zanu PF to receive job preference shows that this regime of poverty, darkness and confusion is not there to serve all the country’s citizens, but only those who pander to this inept party that has brought about entrenched poverty and joblessness.
This is what Gushungo meant when he said there was no viable successor to his telescopic foresight and wisdom-imbued leadership.

It is disheartening to learn that the country’s military broadcaster’s property will go under the hammer to settle outstanding salary debts running into hundreds of thousands.
It brings into question the wisdom, or lack thereof, of awarding licences to those who are not only incapable of running a television station, but should be nowhere near running one.
The tragedy of all this, of course, is that other, more capable media establishments with the capacity to run a television station efficiently were denied licences in favour of politically "correct" institutions. Such is the price of the politicisation of the media.
